Betws Trail Canicross Event 2019
The team at Pero are delighted to have sponsored this year’s Canicross event, part of the Betws-y-coed Trail Challenge.
Canicross is a cross country event that sees runners take on forest trail challenges alongside their dogs.
Runners were attached their dogs using unique Canicross harnesses that are fitted to the runners waist and the dog’s running harness.
Canicross events take place all over the world and are particularly popular here in the UK.
The Betws Trail Canicross is comprised of two events covering 5 and 10 kilometres, taking place right after the main Betws Trail event.
Trail Betws events are organised by a not-for-profit community group Betws Ymlaen, whose aim is to stage a fun, friendly, sustainable and inclusive race around some of Betws-y-Coed’s most challenging forest tracks.
The race supports the local community and businesses, and all money raised is donated to local Charites and Help for Heroes.
Claire Williams, one of the event organisers, reached out to Pero and we were delighted to be able to support the event, especially one taking place in our hometown.
This year, Pero supplied over 20 prizes from our range to the event, which were handed out to the winners of each class.
I think we can all agree the real winners of the 2019 Canicross are the dogs who took part!
Entries for the 2020 Canicross event are open now! If you’d like to find out how to take part you can learn more by visiting trailbetws.com/canicross or check them out on social media @trailbetws
