Woof Humans!
Lola-Magnolia here, aka the silent Staffie. Usually I don’t a bark in due to the noisy machine gun barking of the Lili-Mcvitie. Anyway it’s all about me this month. I’ve been mostly keeping an eye on my fellow rescue cat siblings, especially Evie. Evie is a small medium haired cat which has the attitude of a ferocious lion and the ability to fluff up twice her size. Human first thought she’d been attacked by a dog but on more careful inspection couldn’t find any puncture wounds. After a gentle clean up and a visit to Vets 4 Pets, seems our little Evie had developed a kind of dermatology condition to her face which had spread very quickly with the loss of lots of fur around her eyes and ears. A course of antibiotics, steroid injection and some over the counter chemist ointment plus special treatment (no chasing up the purple leaf tree). She’s made a great improvement and the fur has grown back.
I’ve also been on the Sunday morning litterpicks with Llanberis Tidy village group and supervised the rubbish bags being taken into the van which taken thrm to the council pick up location. I really enjoy the walks with the litterpicking htoupy especially when we walk through the Glyn Rhonwy area which was developed into an industrial park about 15 years ago but nothing has been built there. The views are amazing and I love running along the roads off lead (it’s safe because it’s closed off to all cars). It would make an amazing new base for the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team there with a huge clear area for the any helecopter landing and takeoff. On last Sunday’s litterpick lots of humans stopped to say how tidy the village was looking and also stopped to stroke me… but better still one of the members of Llanberis Tidy village said that I have changed her mind about Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and that we’re not all big scary fighting dogs you read about in the news but quiet, gentle, affectionate family dogs like myself who love going on litterpicking walks, gardening, cats and Pero Pet Food. Can’t wait until I see her again because she gives me excellent head scratches and has a smiley face.
Nearly forgot to mention…human got us one of those ‘slow feeding dog bowls’. It makes it more fun to try and the Pero biscuits out of the bowl, it keeps us entertained too!
